FARMINGTON — Police are investigating two fires Tuesday morning at a Farmington trailer park.

Investigators said the fires may have been set intentionally.

Police were called to Mesa Trailer Park, 2011 Troy King Road, shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday on report of a person trying to light a vehicle on fire, according to a Farmington police news release.

A trailer in the park was also on fire, and police learned the vehicle and trailer had the same owner.

The owner of the vehicle and home was a woman, and detectives have questioned her ex-boyfriend, but no charges have been filed, Farmington police Lt. Taft Tracy said.

Tracy said the car fire was quickly extinguished. Firefighters also put out the fire in the trailer, which wasn’t occupied, Tracy said.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Farmington police at 505-327-7701 or San Juan County Crime Stoppers at 505-334-8477 (TIPS) where callers can remain anonymous and receive a cash reward.
