Farmington — Relay For Life, an annual fundraiser for cancer research, will start at 6 p.m. tomorrow at San Juan College's Health and Human Performance Center, 4601 College Blvd. The relay will continue until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Mychelle McGee, the event chairperson, said the relay goes all night "because cancer never sleeps."

Put on by the American Cancer Society, the event starts with people who have survived cancer walking a lap. People can also buy luminarias for family members and friends who have had cancer or currently have cancer. The luminarias will be lit during the luminaria ceremony.

A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the event.

Anyone interested in participating can show up at the event or visit the website, relayforlife.org/farmington. It is free to join.

All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society.
