The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Mark Hinojos, 26, on suspicion of his involvement in the stabbing and kidnapping of Matthew Harrison.
Matthew Russell, a 24-year-old Aztec resident, Thomas Salazar, a 21-year-old Dulce resident, and Jeanie Sanchez, a 25-year-old Durango, Colo., resident, also were arrested in connection with the incident.
They were arrested on suspicion of numerous felonies, and each is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
Harrison was in his bedroom with his girlfriend when five people, armed with a knife and a machete, burst into his home at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. One of men struck him in the head with a bat and another stabbed him twice in the back, Harrison told investigators.
The suspects also allegedly did thousands of dollars of damage to a car and other property at Harrison's home.
Investigators spent the night searching for Harrison after his girlfriend called police, according to the suspects' arrest affidavits. The alleged kidnappers released Harrison near his home Thursday morning.
Harrison was treated at the San Juan Regional Medical Center before he was arrested on an unrelated warrant, according to the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.
