FARMINGTON — Four people are in custody after police said they were involved in a stabbing and kidnapping on Wednesday night.

San Juan County Sheriff's Office Lt. Cory Tanner said six people broke into Matthew Harrison's home in Crouch Mesa at about 9:30 p.m. The suspects fought with Harrison in his bedroom, and he was stabbed twice in the back.

Harrison was taken from his home and held captive throughout the night. The suspects released him near his home at about 10 a.m. on Thursday.

During the night, the suspects also beat Harrison in the head with a bat or a pipe, Tanner said.

Tanner said four people are in custody and are being questioned by investigators. He did not release their names because they had not been charged with a crime.

Two other suspects are at large, he said.

Harrison was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Tanner said that Harrison was arrested on a warrant unrelated to the kidnapping and booked into San Juan County Adult Detention Center.
