FARMINGTON — Wayne Garcia, 20, of Farmington, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Farmington Magistrate Court. His case will be heard in district court.

Garcia is suspected of shooting at a residence in South Farmington on Jan. 15.

He is charged with shooting at an occupied dwelling, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit felony criminal damage to property, Farmington Police Detective Sgt. Robert Perez previously said.

Police believe Garcia acted alongside another suspect, Jerod Mobley, 19, who is charged with one count of fourth-degree shooting at an occupied dwelling, three counts of felony criminal damage to property and one count of conspiracy to commit a shooting at an occupied dwelling.

Mobley is suspected of planning the shooting in retaliation for a fight in which a friend was involved two nights before the shooting occurred, Perez said.
