Piedra Vista graduate Dominic Moreno continued his impressive 2013 season with his first conference win for the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday night.
Moreno pitched 7 innings, allowing just four hits and no runs in 73 pitches. He didn't issue a walk and struck out two Texas Longhorns (11-6 overall, 0-1 Big XII) as the Red Raiders (13-7, 1-0) won in Austin, Texas 1-0.
"One of the greatest achievements to date," Moreno posted on his Twitter page after the win.
Jerad McCrummen earned the save in relief of Moreno.
Moreno is now 2-1 in four starts this season. After Friday night's performance, Moreno now carries a 3.57 ERA.
