The Farmington High girls tennis team got its season underway with three victories in Albuquerque over the weekend.

The Lady Scorps defeated Messilla Valley 8-1, Los Alamos 5-4 and Bosque 6-3 in their three matches.

Molly Merrion won two of her three matches at No. 1 singles.

In a tight contest against Los Alamos, Sydney Schumacher and Caroline Moss won the deciding match at No. 3 doubles in a third set tiebreaker.

Farmington will continue its season this weekend with matches against Piedra Vista, Los Alamos and St. Pius X.
