Kirtland girls beat Bosque
The Kirtland Central girls soccer team defeated Bosque 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Albuquerque.
"They are a very respectable team, but we just outplayed them today," said Lady Broncos head coach Leonel Comacho.
Tosharra Villegas scored Kirtland's opening goal in the first half.
Zoey Hooper tacked on a goal in the second half to push the Lady Broncos' lead to 2-0.
Comacho said he was happy with the efforts of goalkeeper Jennifer Hastings and the rest of his defense.
"(Hastings) had about 12 saves and most weren't that hard," he said. "She did have two stellar saves there at the end. Our defense is starting to understand how to play together."
Kirtland moved to 10-3 with the win, while the loss dropped Bosque to 6-6.
The Lady Broncos will be at home against Bloomfield on Thursday.
