Chatfield, Cherry Creek and Aurora, along with most of the larger reservoirs, are still mostly iced. Thin ice is showing along the shore, so use caution. Many smaller waters are starting to open up, such as St. Vrain State Park, where most ponds are fully open and fishing well for trout. Better to hit the high country for ice fishing at this time. Green Mountain, Williams Fork and Granby are fishing well for lake trout. Use 2-3 inch jigs tipped with worms or sucker for best results. South Park's Elevenmile is fishing fair to well for trout. Antero and Tarryall reservoirs are slower. River anglers will find good action on the Arkansas in Pueblo using midges, especially near sunset.
