Most boat ramps are closed until spring, but Pueblo, Horsetooth, Lon Hagler and Douglas Reservoirs are exceptions. Most Front Range waters remain ice free, and trout fishing has been excellent on many of them, such as Horsetooth, Wellington No. 4, Aurora, Lon Hagler, Douglas and Chatfield. A wide variety of baits is working at this time. For those champing at the bit to ice fish, options are very limited unless you wish to travel to the Western Slope, and those that exist such as Tarryall, Evergreen, Georgetown and Antero still have some open water and marginal ice (less than 4 inches) in many places. North Park and Red Feather area waters have been shifting from ice to open water daily depending on weather. Give them a couple of weeks.
