I teach 7th grade Gifted Education at Heights Middle School. One of the teacher/student standards for Gifted Education is to utilize community members to help enrich student's educational experiences. This is not always easy to accomplish since everyone leads very busy lives. During our unit on Career Interests and Research, several community members served as guest speakers and shared information with the students about their careers. I would like to thank the following people for giving up their valuable time to contribute to my student's learning, Su Hodgman of San Juan County Axis program, Greg Perkins and Steven Perkins of BHP Billiton, Dr. Eleanore Barry Prather, and Kim Bell of Great Harvest Bread Company. Getting to interview these folks was the most engaging and enjoyable part of the lesson for my students.
