The front page of the Tuesday, March 11, 2014, The Daily Times: "The Navajo Nation Human Rights Commission has approved a resolution recommending the Navajo Nation Council oppose the use of "disparaging" references to Native people in professional sports franchises." OK. These commissioners need to drive across their own nation before they pass resolutions that are in direct opposition to their own schools. Do the Shiprock "Chieftains" or the Red Mesa "Redskins" need to change their school mascot also? Or because they are "Native" schools, it is appropriate to use "disparaging" terms. There appears to be double standards here!
