I voted for the bond that approved the construction of the new Tibbets Middle School. Being a Journeymen Electrician I was hoping for some work. I showed the Electrical Foreman the sticker on my hard hat that was given to me after I voted, he thanked me for voting for the project and said to come back Monday. Well I went back on several Monday mornings. I was told that an Albuquerque electrical company had just finished a High School in Las Cruces and the owner of the company was sending those hands to Farmington to help finish the new middle school. Not one local electrician was part of the new construction. We have another bond election coming up soon for Hermosa Middle School and Northeast Elementary, should I expect the same outcome? I don't know. I just want these bond elections to work out for local electricians, plumbers and others who are in the construction trades here locally.
