Robert Thompson, proprietor of Argyll in Cherry Creek, has no qualms about calling his 6-month-old establishment a "gastropub." "I opened Argyll calling myself a gastropub and will succeed or fail under that description," Thompson says. "Gastropubs are not the same 'species' as the majority of pubs and have to be described with an evolved lexicon.  
 
Most of us don't get to look back with satisfaction on our year's labors, but Andy Brown, head brewer at Wynkoop Brewing Co. in LoDo, made sure to save all his work. He'll bring it out for the public on Saturday with Wynkoop's first Beers of the Year mini-festival.
