Wynter was born and raised in southeastern Michigan. She attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, and graduated with bachelor's degrees in biology and English. She lived in Denver for a short while before moving to New Mexico, where she copes every day with enormous culture shock. Although she misses living near a significantly sized body of water, she must admit it's nice being in an area where six inches of snow is a lot.'

She started at The Daily Times in July 2007, with no newspaper experience whatsoever. After three months as the News Clerk, she took a position on the copy desk, where she works laying out pages and proofreading.

In her spare time, Wynter enjoys spending time with her crazy little dog, PJ, writing, reading and hiking. Lately, she also has started getting into photography.
