In the latest appeal by Orlando Torrez, the court concluded there was enough evidence to support his convictions of felony murder, shooting at a dwelling and evidence tampering.
The court also ruled last month ( http://bit.ly/1aL50iT) there was no violation of Torrez's right against double jeopardy.
Torrez was sentenced to life in prison for the death of 19-year-old Danica Concha. She was hit by a bullet from a gunfight that broke out at a 2003 Halloween party in Taos. Another woman was wounded.
The court ordered a new trial in 2009 because testimony about gangs was wrongly allowed as evidence.
