FARMINGTON — The Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Co. on Tuesday announced Robert Joe has been named CEO.

Joe most recently ran his own Farmington-based consulting firm, Towerhouse Business Group, that helped businesses work with tribes. The business was featured in a Daily Times article on June 10.

Joe, 48, was site manager of Raytheon's Diné Facility near Farmington from 2000 to 2011. He also served on the New Mexico Economic Development Commission under former Gov. Bill Richardson.

Joe was raised in Seba Dalkai, Ariz., and is a member of the Navajo Nation.

The Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Co., based in Saint Michaels, Ariz., is a business entity of the Navajo government. It includes exploration and production, petroleum and pipeline entities.

The company in 2012 produced nearly 7.9 million cubic feet of natural gas and 3,080 barrels of oil in New Mexico, according to the state Oil Conservation Division.
