FARMINGTON — The Central Consolidated School District is expected to keep its superintendent after tonight's meeting.
The district board of education meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Shiprock Board Room.
One of the action items is the review of Superintendent Don Levinski's performance since the district approved his initial contract in July 2011.
Levinski has held his position since May 28, two days after the board put former Superintendent Gregg Epperson on administrative leave.
Levinski since faced suspension from the New Mexico Public Education Department in November 2011. He was involved in the demotion and promotion of several employees under questionable circumstances, according to a letter from Hanna Skandera, secretary-designate of the department.
The board will convene in a closed session early on in tonight's meeting to evaluate Levinski and to discuss a contract renewal.
The board will then reconvene in an open session to vote on his contract.
