FARMINGTON — A man walking on Main Street in downtown Farmington was hit by a vehicle and taken to the hospital Monday evening.
Herbert Clah, 64, was crossing Main Street near South Lake Avenue when he was struck by Leelyn Lee, 27, who was driving a white Chevrolet car, said Farmington police Officer Keith Herrera.
Lee was going west on Main when he made a left turn onto Lake.
Lee told police he had dirt on his window and no visor and the sun was in his eyes, which was one reason why he didn't see Clah, Herrera said.
“He didn't see the pedestrian until it was too late,” he said.
An ambulance drove Clah to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he was treated for a laceration to his head and pain in his arm and legs, Herrera said.
He was in stable condition Monday night.
Lee was issued a citation for failing to yield to a person.
Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, Herrera said.
