FARMINGTON — An alleged drunken driver caused a three-car crash at the intersection of Main Street and Murray Avenue on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

The crash caused minor injuries.

Kyle Jim, a 24-year-old Farmington man, was arrested by Farmington police on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He also received numerous traffic violations, said Sgt. Dave Monfils.

Jim was eastbound on Main Street at about 1:30 p.m. While approaching the intersection at Murray, he rear ended a car driven by Victoria John, a 38-year-old Farmington woman, police said.

Jim then traveled into the intersection and crashed into a pickup driven by Anna Leppert, a 25-year-old Farmington woman, Monfils said.

Leppert was hit on the driver's side of the vehicle when she was turning west from Murray onto Main.

She was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Jim and John were taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, Monfils said.

Monfils said Jim showed signs of impairment after the crash and had a bottle of liquor in his possession. Jim has two prior driving while intoxicated convictions, in 2007 and 2010, according to a state court website.
