ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — Records show an Albuquerque police officer's stolen rifle and a shotgun that fires Taser prongs were recovered earlier this month after detectives met with informants as they investigated the thefts.
Records obtained by the Albuquerque Journal 9http://bit.ly/UQBCL5) show the AR-15 rifle and the shotgun were found in a black trash bag lying in a street south of Albuquerque on Nov. 8. It isn't clear if the informants aided in the recovery.
Other items stolen from Detective Zach Stephenson's city-owned pickup on Oct. 26 while he was hitting golf balls have not been recovered. They include a flash-bang grenade, three rifle magazines and a bullet-proof vest.
Deputy Police Chief Paul Feist told the Journal on Friday that no arrests have been made and none are pending.
