The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday it will actively be pursuing drunken drivers through the Christmas season.

The sheriff’s office and other law enforcement agencies will be participating in a “Winter Superblitz” that goes from Dec. 5 through Jan. 8, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Beth Utley said in a press release.

There will be increased DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints through the county, Utley said.
