ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — Police say an Albuquerque man was arrested on aggravated battery and other charges after he shot a 13-year-old boy outside his home.
The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/X2QbCI) that 42-year-old Michael Zamora shot the boy in the shoulder and bound his hands with zip ties after he found the boy next to his truck early Saturday morning.
Zamora says he was defending his property and he confronted the boy because he thought he was trying to get into his truck.
Zamora contends that the boy punched him in the face and attempted to run away shortly before the shooting.
The boy says he was walking two girls home from a friend's house and was playing around near Zamora's vehicle when the man came out of his house with a gun.
