FARMINGTON — The trial against Justin Mark, who is charged with first-degree murder, is scheduled to start today.
Mark, 25, was arrested May 29, 2011, along with Donovan King, 23, near Kevin Lossiah’s apartment at 2700 W. Apache St.
Lossiah was badly beaten in the head and died at the hospital later that day, according to court documents.
Police allege that Mark and King broke into Lossiah’s home and beat him to death with a branch from a tree, according to court documents.
Mark and King were both charged with first-degree murder in Lossiah’s death. King is scheduled to go to trial in January.
The men were also charged with conspiracy to commit murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, aggravated burglary, and tampering with evidence.
The case will be tried in District Judge John Dean’s courtroom.
