FARMINGTON — A Crownpoint man was sentenced Monday morning to three and a half years in prison for stabbing a man in the chest and kicking him the face.
Frederick Jimmie, 22, was sentenced in federal court in Santa Fe to 41 months in prison followed by a three years of supervised probation for his role in an attack where a man was kicked and punched in the face, stabbed and then run over by a vehicle, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Gonzales said in a prepared statement.
Jimmie will also have to pay the victim, whose name was not released, $39,000 to cover medical expenses.
The assault happened Feb. 2, 2011 in Crownpoint, Gonzales said.
Gonzales said Jimmie stabbed the victim several times and Ronald Yazzie, 36, ran the man’s leg’s over.
The victim had multiple stab wounds, a broken fibula and ankle, broken orbital wells and a broken nose, Gonzales said.
Jimmie and Yazzie were both indicted Sept. 14, 2011 and they each pleaded guilty on Sept. 22, 2012.
Yazzie is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday morning.
