ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — An organization that supports dwarfs is scheduled to hold a conference in Albuquerque.

The New Mexico/El Paso Chapter of Little People of America is set to begin its three-day conference Friday at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

The conference seeks to provide residents with sessions on medical care, employment, education, social events and peer-support networks.

Little People of America has more than 6,000 members nationwide.

Short stature is generally caused by one of the more than 200 medical conditions known as dwarfism.
