FARMINGTON — A Shiprock man was sentenced in federal court to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman.
David John George, 56, will serve two years in prison, five years on probation and be required to register as a sex offender for crimes committed in September 2011, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Gonzales said in a prepared statement.
A woman knocked on George’s door on Sept. 2, 2011 while she was looking for her sister. George pulled her into his house and sexually assaulted her, Gonzales said.
George has been in federal custody since his arrest Sept. 21. He pleaded guilty to the charge on June 20.
